*REVIEW* Stoker Sisters by Kailin Gow

Two sisters... Born during the time of Jane Austen... Set to marry for advancement, but escaped their fates by becoming vampires. Now vampires in the 21st century, hunted by a sect of rogue hunters and governed by an ancient Romanian and Bulgarian vampire myth, the sisters live in a small beach town of California where they meet Keegan Knowles, a mysterious boy. For hundreds of years they've shared clothes, books, and their home, but will they share the same boy or is it there going to be war?

I had to sit back and reflect a little to properly review this for you.  Not that I didn't like it.  I did trust me I have now ordered the second book because I don't want to wait.  I don't want to wait even long enough for book 2 to get here!! This book took a completely different road than I expected.  I know we have all read something at some point and time in our lives and then sat back and thought "Wow."  Sometimes it's a good wow and others it's a wow because you just don't know what to think.

My wow started off as the not sure what to think.  I didn't realize just how much back ground story there was going to be.  There was a lot and I had started to think maybe I was missing something or had misunderstood the description.  Don't get me wrong when I say that either.  Getting to know how and why is SUPER important and I enjoyed reading about it but it was just a bit of a shock when I was expecting something else.  In fact this really made the story for me in the end.  How could you not love sisters that come from the Jane Austin era!! The more you learned the more involved you felt and honestly I am not sure you could feel more involved!!

The second wow came when we moved on to the now.  This really showed how different the sisters are and how they deal with that.  I am not going to say they deal with it well but they deal with it.  I was really blown away on how each sister deals with what has happened to them.  With sisters like night and day you really never know what you are going to get.  Both girls have their ups and downs and are set in their own ways but as far as things go family is family and even when you want to kill them, you will protect them and let nothing come in your way.

Then you get your second taste of swoon in this book(I am not telling you about the first swoon).  Keegan  is honestly amazing.  For the most part he goes through this book and keeps his mind on what he wants but like all guys where there is choices...  Doesn't help that Alexis is about as smoldering as they come and Sadie is an all around sweet person (well vampire).  The things that he has to go through and deal with aren't easy either and I had a good idea not too long after meeting him as to what was going on.  I mean a guy can't be that perfect right?  I was kind of proven wrong but was happy about it and continue to LOVE Keegan.

Overall this book was wonderful.  It's was kind of the backwards version of a love triangle, if that makes any sense at all. Instead of having one girl and two boys that she has to choose from, you get two girls that want the one boy.  There is so much more to this story I WANT to share with you but don't want to spoil any of the fun in discovering what really happened and what is really happening!!   Really I am not sure that this review does this book the justice it needs.  I can not wait for the next one to get here!!

*REVIEW* Cold Blood by Heather

Wood Point Academy is not at all what I expected. For one thing, it looks like a cross between military school and Buckingham Palace. Everyone stares, the floors shine so bright you can see your reflection in them from a mile away, and no one smiles. Unless they're kicking your butt in the process.

At least I've got plenty to take my mind off the fact that my psycho cousin, Miles De'Luca, keeps calling and declaring his love and promising to come for me just as soon as he's destroyed anyone standing in our way. Wes isn't going to like that idea. So between Miles, Wood Point's evil welcoming committee, and the drill sergeant hottie trainer from hell, I just keep asking myself, how did I end up here?

I just have to say WOW!! I am really being blow away by the level of amazing that this book had.  There is so much to say and to go on about.  This is the second book  in the Dirty Blood series and it rocked it!! This is one of those books that when you are done you know that the series is just going to get better.

There is a change of scenery right off the hop in this book.  Things change and I like it.  Moving into a Hunter school for her own good (or so she is told) is not going to be easy.  I mean how could you really expect it to be any different than a normal high school.  You run into those people that are so cliquey that you just know what is going to happen.  However Tara is not a normal or weak girl.  She is a fighter and will behave as one.

Tara refuses to disappoint.  I stand strong in my opinion of her being one of my top 10 favorite kick butt female protagonists.  It really doesn't matter what the situation is she just steps up.  Moving away from what she knows and who she is close to can't be easy and you know it isn't but she takes the issue in stride.  Well for the most part she does.  There are a couple of moments that she freaks out a little but hey don't we all.

"That did it.  I might not be able to move like the kids here,
with all their power yoga and kung-fu kicks, but I had taken
down more than one Werewolf in my time. He didn't have
the right to look board."

I seriously loved the new characters that were introduced in this novel.  Tara has to leave her friends behind when she traveled to her new school right.  I can't say she forgets them but they definitely aren't the first thing on her mind.  This irritated me a little to start but really the girl just had her entire world flipped on her I am totally cutting her some slack.... For now.  This also due to the fact I LOVE Cambria. She is all kinds of fun and a girl after my own heart in so many ways.  She is the kind of girl you want to be around and be friends with because you know when it comes down to it she will be there for you!

Wes isn't as prominent throughout this book for many reasons (most I will not mention).  However you do get Alex and he is who I am voting for.  Alex has a past and not exactly the warm and fuzzy kind but he is a good hunter.   Also he is Tara's tutor.  Not that anyone would complain about that, I mean you would have to run a lot but would that be so bad if you got to spend time beside/behind him?!

The action is still there in this book and I am really not sure how Heather keeps the excitement rolling.  I mean I know how while reading it but to write the action and keep it from becoming repetitive and boring she does such an amazing job.  Each hurdle and change makes this book another fun and original read.  I would actually have to say that I like this book just a little bit more than the first and that is not a normal for me.  If you weren't blown away by book one, I am sure book two will have you hooked!!

#YABookChat TONIGHT 9pm EST Tom Tancin & Giveaway!

I want you all to welcome tonight Tom Tancin and his new release
Hippocampus (The Atlantis Revolution #1)
Please check out end of post for a quick sneak peak at the book!!

An Island that Shouldn't Exist...
A Life He Didn't Know...
A Destiny That Can't Be Escaped

There was no turning back. We were going to set into motion a revolution that could either save Atlantis or leave it destroyed in the process.

Sixteen-year-old Trey Atlas' known life is a lie. While he was raised in Miami, Trey was actually born in Atlantis. Sent off the legendary island as a baby for his own safety, Trey is the only living heir to the Atlantean throne. Whether he likes it or not, Trey has to go back to his birthplace and accept his role as the Ruling Prince and lead the revolution to defeat the Knights of the Abyss. Otherwise, thousands of innocent lives and his true family legacy could be lost forever.

To give you all an idea of how amazing and fun  this book sounds I
pulled this from Goodreads:

" In my honest opinion this book reminded me of a combination of Harry Potter,
Percy Jackson and Eragon. Hippocampus has practically everything. It has sword fights,
good vs. evil, sorcerers, and the Atlantean language."
-  Michael from The Bookshelf Review

{Blog Tour} CAPTURE by Brina Courtney- Review and Prom Post

As the highly anticipated second novel in the Cryptid Tales series, Capture is sure to satisfy the YA SciFi reader. This action packed story picks up right where Reveal left off with Shay realizing that someone she holds close may not be totally lost. But can Hugh, her cryptid mate, protect her from the evil Malsumis? Or will she fall victim to his horrible plans?
One this is for sure, Shay is in for the fight of her life.

Capture is an amazing and wonderful second book.  Normally I find myself left a little short with second books especially when you get as much change as you do in this book but not Capture.  I  find myself amazed yet again with the wonderful world of Cryptid's and the expansion upon what we knew from the last book.  If you haven't yet read Reveal I would totally recommend you get on it so that you can start this awesome read!!

We jump back into this series just in time to see Shay graduate and head out to Prom. However things are never just that easy are they?  The action starts from there when Shay and Hugh realize that they need to get out of there.  Taking their leave in a place that is supposed to be hidden from any prying eyes, they feel safer and begin to plan but how well can they defend against danger with only two of them?

Shay figures it all out again and shows her continued strength.  There is strength in numbers and she recognizes this.  Lets face it her, Hugh and Emina just aren't enough to defeat the mass of people that Malsumis is bound to send after them.  Being the strong leader (even if she doesn't see it that way) Shay makes the decision to open up the safe house that they are at.  This may prove to be helpful or she could let the enemy in.

"I never considered myself a killer.  But when it comes to my friends
and family I would do anything for them."- Shay

The new Cryptid's/Characters that are brought into this book seriously rock.  Normally it takes me a bit to adjust or like new people but Brina made it so easy.  There is Centaurs, Moth men, Elves and so many more.  My favorite out of all of these new people is Lacy (I am not telling you what she is).  I could honestly read a story just about her and honestly I hope when you read this novel that you tell Brina the same thing.  Lacy is strong and honestly in the end she really shows her true strength in more than just the battle field!

"It's just that.  I look fierce.  Fierce doesn't make friends..."- Lacy

The romance between Shay and Hugh is still there.  Their love and affections has to be one of my favorite out there in the writer world.  It is so intense and yet it doesn't make the novel revolve around it, it more just inhances the story.  I can honestly say that I love that about it.  There wasn't a lot of Hugh and Shay in this book but I feel that is only because they have devloped so much as a couple and what they are to become.

"Surely you wouldn't think a gentleman like myself would take
advantage of a beautiful girl in her time of need?"- Hugh

Overall I have to say that Brina Courtney once again showed her brilliance with this novel.  The twists and turns that this novel makes only you want to dive further into the world of Cryptid's.  As far as being a second book goes this one is amazing and I have no real complaints to report and can not wait to see the next book!!   If Brina can make the second book just as good if not better than the first I have such high hopes for book 3!!! If you want an original read that will leave you wanting more this is the book for you!!

Now I had planned on doing a Prom dress post for this but some events prevented me from
doing it :( However I had what I would have seen as Shay's dress already picked out!!
If you have read the book please let me know what you think :) If you haven't
just let me know what you think of the dress!

Love it right?!
