Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week my pick is:
Expected Release: March 4, 2014
Published by: Viking Juvenile
Release Formats: Hardcover, Ebook
A stunning, magical debut. An international sensation. In modern-day England, witches live alongside humans: White witches, who are good; Black witches, who are evil; and fifteen-year-old Nathan, who is both. Nathan’s father is the world’s most powerful and cruel Black witch, and his mother is dead. He is hunted from all sides. Trapped in a cage, beaten and handcuffed, Nathan must escape before his sixteenth birthday, at which point he will receive three gifts from his father and come into his own as a witch—or else he will die. But how can Nathan find his father when his every action is tracked, when there is no one safe to trust—not even family, not even the girl he loves? In the tradition of Patrick Ness and Markus Zusak, Half Bad is a gripping tale of alienation and the indomitable will to survive, a story that will grab hold of you and not let go until the very last page.
Why I am Waiting
- It must be obvious that I am drawn in by the description!! Who wouldn't be because it sounds like this book is going to rock some serious worlds!
- Though I am not a huge fan of the cover, I must admit there is something about it that I like. However, I just can't put my finger on it but hopefully it has some sort of draw for you as well.
- Normally witches are not my thing but I find that every single one that I have picked up that is published by an imprint of Penguin, I have enjoyed immensely!
- It's from a guys POV... Need I say more on that fact?
What are you waiting on this week? I love adding books to my NEED list :) So, let me know!
THis has been on quite a few WoW posts this week! It's a highly coveted novel, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't desperately wanting it as well! It's been too long since I've read a good novel about witches! Thanks for sharing!!!!
