I was so excited to be a part of this tour and rightly so.  If you can get your hands on this
book you need to do it!!  Thank you to AToMR Tours for organizing the tour!!

She seemed far beyond his reach…could love draw them together? For years shy animator Nathan has carried a torch for Brooke, the beautiful and dynamic Director of Development at their animation studio, even creating B-Girl, a comic-book heroine in her likeness. When a new project throws the two of them together, lovestruck Nathan finally seizes his moment – only to find Arnauld, head of the animation studio, claiming exclusive rights to Brooke’s affections.

But Nathan, it turns out, is not giving up on his dreams so easily. With inspired determination, he sets out to be the super hero of wooing his girl. Threatened by his persistence, Arnauld plays dirty – only to spark an uprising at the studio that unleashes the sort of havoc only a building full of frustrated animators can create. While Nathan pulls out all the stops to win his B-girl, Brooke has to choose. Should she pursue the sparkling career that has taken her years to build…or follow her heart?

Trailer

This trailer is so cute!!  Totally fitting and I LOVE it!!!

Review

It wasn't hard to enjoy this one and to be perfectly honest I didn't even realize that it was 394 pages.  This ended up being a much hotter read than I had anticipated but I enjoyed it just as much as I thought I would anyway.  How could something with such a cute cover and fun synopsis be good right?!  Though it does happen from time to time this book was all the cover had put out and as I said hotness thrown into the mix.  Beyond the hot moments there was a lot of socially awkward guy that is an extremely talented animator.

Clampett gave a unique and fun glance into a world that has intrigued me and yet I don't know much about it.  It was so easy to get into everything about the setting of this read and I do mean everything.  For the most part things take place at Sketch Republic (loved the name) and you kind of get a feel for the world of animators and truth be told rather than loving what they do, you basically get the same hierarchy that you do in any workplace.  There are lots of little facts thrown in as well that I would have never even considered or thought of, I loved it!  Seeing all the things that were put into animation, publishing a comic book but most importantly you got a feel for where and how the main character Nathan worked.

There was not much that I didn't love about Nathan.  He may have been a typical geek but he had such a big heart and was a total guy at the same time.  There were things that he would say that had me laughing out loud and a couple things that may or may not have made my jaw drop.  Admittedly he was not the most confident person but that is what years of being picked on for who you are and what you love would do I imagine.  There was a tiny fear for awhile that he was going to change who he was for Brooke which did disappoint me but there came a point that it became not about her but about him I think, to a point he wanted to feel better for him too.  Well that and he kind of makes a point of making sure that she isn't just trying to change him.  His views on things were so real and when put into awkward situations I can't even tell you all the ways he made me smile.

The romance between Brooke and Nathan was so much fun...well for the most part.  It was super sweet that Nathan had loved Brooke from afar for so long, it's never easy to feel like you are on the outside looking in and that what you want may never be attainable.  When the moment comes and they do meet though he seems to really embrace it and work for what he wants.  Believing that it is the self help tapes that he is listening to but really it seems to be her that brings out the best in him.  The cutest thing was the things he drew on her coffee's for her and I loved that the animations were actually shown in the book!  Though it isn't smooth sailing for these guys I loved the relationship they built and what they brought out in each other!

Fun, sweet, sexy and a little heartbreaking, Animate Me really blew me away.  Clampett is obviously an extremely talented woman and  knows how to not only create something fun but add the realism that we all so often look for, only with Animate Me we also get it in the form of animations as well.  These animations are what I looked forward to,so like Nathan I looked forward to his visits with Brooke and personally I believe the author was smart for showing what he was doing.  With many colourful and well fleshed out characters this is the type of read I will remember long after reading and recommend it to people that love Adult contemporary romance or possibly even new adult.  Either way if you want something light, sweet and a little steamy Animate Me is the book for you!

Quotes
At least I'm over my huge-breast obsession.  Holy hell, during the months where I had newly discovered online porn I just kept drawing them bigger and bigger.  If those girls had been real, they would have toppled over.  Picasso had his blue period; I had my breast period.

"Probably scoping you out.  The assistants have a pool going about whether you're gay or not since you haven't hit on a single one of them."
"Are you trying to kill my afternoon or what?  They remind me of the mean girls that bullied me in high school.  You know, I was in a good mood until you brought all the rainbows and sunshine into my cube.

Not only did I not explain the faux Dani romance as I'd intended, but I agreed to a pity fuck so Brooke can fulfill her community service hours for the romantically and sexually disenfranchised, of which I'm a fully vested member.

I'm having trouble focusing because there are so many distractions here in Fred's collection of individual boutiques.  To start with, our salesperson's name in this one is not Joe or Bill or Dave, but Ransom.  What the hell, kidnapper dude?

Ana only knows her name because of the tag she finds pinned to her jumpsuit. Waking in the featureless compartment of a rocket ship, she opens the hatch to discover that she has landed on a barren alien world. Instructions in her pocket tell her to observe and to survive, no doubt with help from the wicked-looking knives she carries on her belt. But to what purpose?

Meeting up with three other teens--one boy seems strangely familiar--Ana treks across the inhospitable landscape, occasionally encountering odd twists of light that carry glimpses of people back on Earth. They're working on some sort of problem, and the situation is critical. What is the connection between Ana's mission on this planet and the crisis back on Earth, and how is she supposed to figure out the answer when she can't remember anything?

Five Big Questions PARADOX Readers Will Want to Uncover
By A. J. Paquette

It’s no secret, from the first page of my debut YA novel PARADOX, that this is a story in which there is a lot going on. Our main character, we quickly learn, is named Ana. She is in a rocket. She has landed on an alien planet. And for a while, that’s all that she—and we—know. Question piles on top of question, and the pace accelerates to breakneck speed.

Without further ado, here are the top 5 questions Ana is asking herself right now and wishing she had the answers for:

  1. “Who am I?”

It’s a biggie! Ana’s got a nametag, but that’s all she knows about who she is. She has no memory of her past, though her body is well trained and her muscle memory takes over on occasion to show her that, maybe, she knows more about her situation than she thinks she does.

  1. “Why am I here?”

There’s a letter in her pocket, but far from providing the answers she seeks, its cryptic directions leave Ana feeling more confused than ever. “Experience. Discover. Survive.” Those are her instructions. She needs to stay alive. She needs to reach a certain destination. Beyond that? It’s all a blank.

  1. “What exactly is chasing me?”

If all of that weren’t enough, Ana quickly realizes that she is not the only creature on the planet: some sort of giant monster is hot on her tail. It becomes all too obvious that this will not be the easy alien-desert trek it first might have appeared.

  1. “What are those memory strands that come out of nowhere and drop me into someone else’s mind?”

It starts as a mysterious twinkling, which cascades down on top of Ana and drops a fragment of memory into her mind—a stranger’s memory, dark and dire and desperate; a memory of an Earth on the brink of destruction. But whose memory is it? And how? And what can Ana hope to do about it?

  1. “What will happen when the timer reaches zero?”

And here’s the corker. Ana’s got a timer on her wrist, which is ticking down the hours, the minutes, the seconds of her life with eerie efficiency. It’s clear that this countdown is drastic and cataclysmic in some inescapable way. But what does it lead to? And what will happen if she doesn’t reach her goal before time runs out?

There’s a lot that Ana doesn’t know, and even when she gains companions on her journey they can’t—or won’t—give her any satisfactory answers. But the answers are out there, and Ana is a girl who doesn’t let things go. She will find out the truth, no matter how long it takes. No matter what the cost. And even if the end result leaves her longing for those days of blissful unawareness. And that’s a bit of a paradox in itself, isn’t it?

Bloom Discovery Award honoree, and receiving the 2008 SCBWI’s Susan Landers Glass Scholarship Award, for the book that would later become Nowhere Girl. Her first picture book, The Tiptoe Guide to Tracking Fairies, was published in 2009.

“Are you all right, honey?”

I opened my eyes. An attractive young woman with red hair and brilliant green eyes was looking at me. What I thought was salt water from the ocean must have been tears because my face was the only one nearby that was wet. I glanced at her concerned expression and smiled. “Yes, thank
you. I’m fine.” I swiped away a tear with my finger. “Just…everything’s fine.”

She stepped closer and lowered her voice. “This cruise will change your life. Nothing will be the same when it’s over, but it will be worth it.  You’ll see.” Her emerald eyes twinkled, and she nodded her head once.

I forced a laugh to be polite. “Thanks. Enjoy your cruise.”

What a weirdo. What did that even mean? How could a cruise change my life? I moved from my spot to avoid more weirdness from her and found a less populated area at the back of the ship. New York and New Jersey disappeared behind us as we charged toward Bermuda and away
from the mess my life had become.

A cloud covered the retreating sun, sending shivers through me. A white-haired lady dropped her purse and lots of change tumbled out. A penny hit my foot and landed on tails.

My cell phone buzzed. I pulled it from my pocket. I had thirteen messages and thirteen texts. How would Nisha survive the next five days without hearing from me? I took care of the messages and told her I’d call her when we got back to Jersey.

Even though I was not very superstitious, a bad feeling crawled into the pit of my stomach and took up residence.

I knew what I was leaving behind, but what was I floating toward?

{Release Event & Giveaway} 15 Minutes by Jill Cooper

I have 15 minutes to save my mother’s life….

15 minutes is all the Rewind Agency gives you in the past, but for Lara Crane it’s enough time to race through the city, find her mother, and stop her from being killed in a mugging that happened over ten years ago.
But that’s not how it happened. The story she’s been told all her life is a lie and when Lara takes a bullet meant for her mother, her future changes forever.

The love of her life acts like a stranger. Her simple life is replaced with a giant house, glamorous clothes and a new boyfriend.

Except someone knows her secret. And he will try to stop her at every turn as she races against the clock to unravel a dangerous conspiracy.

15 Minutes is an edgy high octane YA thriller that can be described as Back to the Future meets Inception where the people Lara trusts change in an instant. She is in a timeline she doesn't understand, and is about to make one fatal mistake as she faces an enemy so familiar, he’s family.

Excerpt

“She’s my mother,” my voice quivers. I close my eyes when he touches my cheek. “Ever since the first time I went back on my birthday—I can't stop thinking about her, Rick.” I close my eyes and take a deep breath.
He nuzzles my cheek, and I feel his warming breath against my skin. I’m safe, comfortable.
“I saw how she was with me,” I whisper, because if I have to be any louder I won't be able to go on. “I was a baby, and I saw how much she loved me. She sang to me. My dad—-we were all so happy.” I shake my head. “That’s what I want. I need that. He does too.”
Rick’s eyes soften. “And if you're successful, you know things will change.”
“Of course I do. I'll have my mom.”
“Not that.” He glances away, pain etched on his face. “Your life will change. Our life.”
My brow furrows. “What are you trying to say?”
“What if we don’t know each other anymore?  What if we lose each other?”
The idea quickens my pulse. I brush his soft hair off his brow. “It won’t. Nothing could change how I feel about you.”
Doubt mars his face. I lean forward and brush my lips against his. Passion comes quick as our lips part, searching each other. I wrap my arms around his neck as he lifts his body onto the bed beside me. He kisses my jaw and rests his head against mine.
“I don't want to lose our future, Lara. Are you willing to risk everything you know for this?”
Rather than answer him, I lay my head on his shoulder. He wraps his arms around me. I’m cocooned and safe.
Despite it all, the answer is yes.
