Waiting on Wednesday: Carnival of Souls by Melissa Marr

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spineand spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.  My beautiful button is thanks to Evie!! Yup just one more thing of AWESOME she did for me.

So seeing I am so excited about having my birthday on a Tuesday and sharing a birthday with many books I decided that I would share another one that I am REALLY looking forward to!

In a city of daimons, rigid class lines separate the powerful from the power-hungry. And at the heart of The City is the Carnival of Souls, where both murder and pleasure are offered up for sale. Once in a generation, the carnival hosts a deadly competition that allows every daimon a chance to join the ruling elite. All Mallory knows of The City is that her father--and every other witch there--fled it for a life in exile in the human world. Instead of a typical teenage life full of friends and maybe even a little romance, Mallory scans quiet streets for threats, hides herself away, and trains to be lethal. She knows it's only a matter of time until a daimon finds her and her father, so she readies herself for the inevitable. While Mallory possesses little knowledge of The City, every inhabitant of The City knows of her. Why I am waiting on this one:

1.  I LOVE Melissa Marr's work.  Her Wicked Lovely series is one of my favourites!

2.  The massive amount of cover love I have.  This is the kind of cover that when walking past it

would scream "pick me up"

3.  The description of this book already has me hooked and I haven't even gotten my hands on it!

4.  I have been drawn towards reads with a darker feel to them lately and I think this one is going to

be exactly what I want!

5. It shares my birthday!! I can't even express how awesome that is!!!
