**REVIEW** The Last Princess by Galaxy Craze

Happily ever after is a thing of the past.A series of natural disasters has decimated the earth. Cut off from the rest of the world, England is a dark place. The sun rarely shines, food is scarce, and groups of criminals roam the woods, searching for prey. The people are growing restless. When a ruthless revolutionary sets out to overthrow the crown, he makes the royal family his first target. Blood is shed in Buckingham Palace, and only sixteen-year old Princess Eliza manages to escape. Determined to kill the man who destroyed her family, Eliza joins the enemy forces in disguise. She has nothing left to live for but revenge, until she meets someone who helps her remember how to hope-and love-once more. Now she must risk everything to ensure that she does not become . . . The Last Princess.

The Last Princess really blew me away.  I mean start and finish before I knew it kind of read!  I have a weakness for books with pretty covers and try to make sure that the descriptions pulls at me too but with this one I purchased before I even read the full description and I do not regret my decision for one moment.  The description when I read it made this almost an instant like for me and you know what I am so glad that I can say that this one has made it to my must read list.  This is really due to the fact that I found no issues with this book at all.

Right from the prologue you get the feel of the intensity that this book is going to have.  The world building starts and you already sense just how much loss there will be.  Death and loss are constantly around the corner with this read.  Yes I know how dark this sounds and truth be told it is.  It is dark and hard to believe at times but that is how it is after the seventeen days that changed the world.  As if to solidify this in the prologue you have to deal with the murder of Princess Eliza's mother the queen.  It is horrible and sad but it is proof that no one is safe.  This also is where I got hooked.  Normally it takes a chapter or two for me to feel a real pull, even for the books I love.  With this one it was within the first three pages.

After the prologue you go forward quite a few years to see Eliza grown and still dealing with the death of her mother.  You get a glimpse of what type of character she is right from from the start but it is when the castle is raided and her family is taken/killed her true colours shine.  She becomes more than a princess and stronger than you could have ever imagined.  Her determination to find her family and exact her revenge upon the man that has caused her so much loss.  She devises a plan and will do anything it takes to go through with it.  That includes joining the enemy ranks to find out where she can find Cornelius Hollister.

It's in the Tudor army that you meet two other strong and important characters.  Portia the violent and aggressive  leader of the female camp.  This girl holds nothing back and seems to have no fear just anger and hate but you do understand why later on in the novel.  You also meet Wesley.  He is what you would consider the love interest and revives Eliza's hope for the good in the world.  I am totally pulled toward him myself many a time.  Even if he is the enemy seriously who can resist the charm and affection?!

Galaxy Craze has created such a fast paced and intriguing story that you will fully submerge yourself and not want to come back to the real world.  Despite its dark and more grim appearance there is a strong and gripping story within the pages of this one.  The pace will never leave you wanting or loose you when you need something the most.  I am looking forward to the next book as the little cliffhanger that sits at the end has me pinning for more but also left me with a little sense of fulfilment because of the many things that were accomplished and started.  I would highly recommend this one to lovers of dystopian novel and fans of books that have royalty in it!
