**REVIEW** IMPOSTER by Jill Hathaway

What if a killer took control of you?
Vee Bell’s gift (or curse) of “sliding”—slipping into the mind of another person and experiencing life, briefly, through his or her eyes—has been somewhat under control since she unwillingly witnessed the horrific deaths of her classmates six months ago.
But just as things are getting back to normal, Vee has a very bizarre experience: she loses consciousness and finds herself in a deserted area, at the edge of a cliff, with the broken body of the boy who took advantage of her on the rocks below.
As Vee finds herself in stranger and stranger situations with no memory of getting there, she begins to suspect that someone she knows has the ability to slide—and that this “slider” is using Vee to exact revenge on his or her enemies.

Review

Jill is freaking amazing. I was surprised by just how much I loved Slide and Impostor was no different. Her writing is smooth and easy to just fall into and the characters are vivid, realistic and easily liked. There has not been a single character in these books that I didn't get a clear cut picture from and this is not just main characters but everyone in the book. It's like having a picture in front of you so you see the entire thing not just a couple people and the rest is blurred out. Lets face it, it's better to read knowing the entire picture not just a piece.

Vee lived through her first ordeal only to realize life can get more strange. Her Aunt that stopped talking to her mother 20 years before shows up and seems to take over and at the same time strange things start happening. I couldn't blame Vee for trying to connect her odd estranged Aunt to the odd occurrences. Waking up while driving and waking up walking to your mothers grave wouldn't be a picnic. Then top that off with the fact that your best friend seems to be pulling away from you and life can get more strange and more horrible.

How could anyone not love Vee?! The girl is seriously down to earth... Well mostly. She does tend to over think some things but when you can slide into other people the possibilities are fairly endless. I also loved the change in her, it wasn't drastic and she kept much of her original Vee traits but she also became a little more of who she was I think. She valued her relationship with her sister and became a little more daring when it came to Rollins. This made her development easy to believe and enjoy. Nothing drastic like trying to become who she was before and a part of the "in" crowd but developing into more than the resentful girl that lost her mother and was betrayed. No that's not even really Vee from the first book but it touches the surface.

Rollands kind of ticked me off in this one. I may be alone in this one but really he wasn't very sensitive in the start. When he seemed to be blowing Vee off for Anna I wanted to smack him. Seriously. Even when he and Vee worked things out all I could think is WTF?! Like when Vee gets grounded so he decides its cool to take Anna to the movie thy were supposed to see together... What the heck is that? Maybe I'm overreacting but regardless I was NOT happy. Either was Vee but she kept on rationalizing everything and the fact that he kept on saying there was nothing there but friendship helped. When it came down to it I guess he came through for her but I expected more from him.

In my original review here I also mentioned Sophie, Samantha an the Aunt: Lydia. However this made my review really long and in fear of loosing you guys I cut it out. Just know that I did feel these people needed mentioning but I didn't want to kill the book with a dragging review. I am honestly just as impressed with this novel as I was with the first. Jill will get you hooked with Slide and then feed your addiction with Impostor. If you haven't picked up Slide yet do so because you need to read Impostor!!

Quotes
I speak up.  "Because everyone walks with the devil at one point or another.  Even Goodman Brown's perfect little wife, Faith, was hanging around with the rest of the townspeople in the forest, worshipping Satan.  It just means that everyone makes bad choices in their lives.  No one's perfect."

His eyes are dark as night.  The metal of his lip ring gleams in the moonlight.  Running my hands through his hair, I lean and touch my lips to his.  He follows my movements, opening his mouth and letting his tongue caress mine gently.

Something warns me to be careful about where I let this woman take me.  After all, what do I know about her?  She lied about her fiance back in California.  She was living her life with a false name.
