*REVIEW* Cold Blood by Heather

Wood Point Academy is not at all what I expected. For one thing, it looks like a cross between military school and Buckingham Palace. Everyone stares, the floors shine so bright you can see your reflection in them from a mile away, and no one smiles. Unless they're kicking your butt in the process.

At least I've got plenty to take my mind off the fact that my psycho cousin, Miles De'Luca, keeps calling and declaring his love and promising to come for me just as soon as he's destroyed anyone standing in our way. Wes isn't going to like that idea. So between Miles, Wood Point's evil welcoming committee, and the drill sergeant hottie trainer from hell, I just keep asking myself, how did I end up here?

I just have to say WOW!! I am really being blow away by the level of amazing that this book had.  There is so much to say and to go on about.  This is the second book  in the Dirty Blood series and it rocked it!! This is one of those books that when you are done you know that the series is just going to get better.

There is a change of scenery right off the hop in this book.  Things change and I like it.  Moving into a Hunter school for her own good (or so she is told) is not going to be easy.  I mean how could you really expect it to be any different than a normal high school.  You run into those people that are so cliquey that you just know what is going to happen.  However Tara is not a normal or weak girl.  She is a fighter and will behave as one.

Tara refuses to disappoint.  I stand strong in my opinion of her being one of my top 10 favorite kick butt female protagonists.  It really doesn't matter what the situation is she just steps up.  Moving away from what she knows and who she is close to can't be easy and you know it isn't but she takes the issue in stride.  Well for the most part she does.  There are a couple of moments that she freaks out a little but hey don't we all.

"That did it.  I might not be able to move like the kids here,
with all their power yoga and kung-fu kicks, but I had taken
down more than one Werewolf in my time. He didn't have
the right to look board."

I seriously loved the new characters that were introduced in this novel.  Tara has to leave her friends behind when she traveled to her new school right.  I can't say she forgets them but they definitely aren't the first thing on her mind.  This irritated me a little to start but really the girl just had her entire world flipped on her I am totally cutting her some slack.... For now.  This also due to the fact I LOVE Cambria. She is all kinds of fun and a girl after my own heart in so many ways.  She is the kind of girl you want to be around and be friends with because you know when it comes down to it she will be there for you!

Wes isn't as prominent throughout this book for many reasons (most I will not mention).  However you do get Alex and he is who I am voting for.  Alex has a past and not exactly the warm and fuzzy kind but he is a good hunter.   Also he is Tara's tutor.  Not that anyone would complain about that, I mean you would have to run a lot but would that be so bad if you got to spend time beside/behind him?!

The action is still there in this book and I am really not sure how Heather keeps the excitement rolling.  I mean I know how while reading it but to write the action and keep it from becoming repetitive and boring she does such an amazing job.  Each hurdle and change makes this book another fun and original read.  I would actually have to say that I like this book just a little bit more than the first and that is not a normal for me.  If you weren't blown away by book one, I am sure book two will have you hooked!!

  2. I just have to say WOW to your review! I've seen this series around the blogosphere in people's mailboxes for a while now but for some odd reason, I've never really considered picking it up... until now! This sounds like an AWESOME sequel packed with action and great characters and a strong heroine. I can't believe I've never added this to my TBR pile yet!

Amazing review, Tiffany! Definitely going to read the first book soon so I can get to this even more amazing sequel! :) <3
