Medical science wasn’t working. The tests, the drugs, the therapies were all useless and a waste of time. She was tired of wasting her time; she was tired of failure. It was time to look away from the obvious and try something unconventional.
Nothing was ever free and that included miracles. Abruptly, Ari finds herself tangled in a web of lies, questioning everything she’s ever known as truth. Never had she believed she’d be thrown headfirst into a world of good and evil, magic and Gods.
Trapped in the middle of a war she had never known existed both parties demanded her allegiance. Ari was a catalyst that could change all the rules of the Earth. But when the time comes to make a choice will she be strong enough to know right from wrong?

My sister was my lifeline, my beacon, my North Star. I could rely on her, depend on her, turn to her when the world was just too hard to face. She could depend on me for the same.
I laughed with her; cried with her; rejoiced her success; and part of me died with her too. I lived for her, loved no one greater than her. Without Savannah, I had no one to turn to, no one to share my soul with. My other half, closer than twins we were, was just gone.
Grief broke my soul and crushed my heart to dust. I didn’t know how to put the pieces back together. I wasn’t sure I even want to without her. How could I live knowing she would never share anything with me again?
Time, supposedly, heals all wounds. I don't believe that. But I do know there are other ways to heal. I just had to find them.
We’re so
excited to be part of the Indie Girl March! Our character interview today is
with Ghita and Lyris, twin sisters, and mother/aunt to the main character
Ariadne in Of Gaea. Their influences or lack thereof is what
creates most of the plot twists and knots.
You’ve been
asked to give an interview. Perhaps we should start with an introduction first?
Ghita: Hello, I’m Ghita and I’m the oldest twin.
Lyris: Only older by a minute. I’m Lyris, the
supposedly younger. But I do consider myself the wiser.
Ghita: I fail to see how. Your choices have lead to
ruin and destruction and death.
Lyris: And yours hasn’t? At least I’ve embraced my
choice, not run from my destiny.
Ghita (indignantly): I did not run. I left a bad
circumstance for a better one.
Lyris: Sounds like running to me.
Why don’t we start the interview? Here we go. Tell the readers out there a little about yourself.
Ghita
(hesitantly): There’s not really much to tell…
Lyris (snorts in disbelief): White lies
already, little sister? *clucks tongue* shame on you. She’s controlling and has
some OCD issues.
Ghita (angrily): You’re psychotic, and
lack control and wisdom.
Lyris: At least I’m honest.
What is the most important thing in the world to you?
In unison: Ariadne.
Lyris:
Finally. We agree on something.
Ghita:
Shut it.
Looking
at where you are now is there something that you wish were different?
Ghita:
I’ve never gone to a tournament for Ariadne.
I wanted to, but I didn’t want her to be… well, like her father.
Lyris
(laughing): And she did anyway. Shows
what you know. I for one would have
loved to gone to a tournament. I have at least the excuse of my condition. What’s yours?
Ghita:
Being like Eryx is dangerous.
Lyris:
So is being like me. Which is worse?
How
do you deal with bad days?
Lyris: Every day is a bad day. I’m not
sure “deal” is an accurate word. Survive, perhaps, because I must.
Ghita: Perfection is boring.
Lyris: You would know wouldn’t you?
Ghita (rolls her eyes): I tell myself
the bad days are never as bad as they seem. And in reality they make the good
days seem all the better.
What is your first good memory?
Lyris: First or favorite? I’m going with
favorite. The day Eryx asked me to marry him.
Ghita: My first good memory, is simply
being held by my mother. It was storming and I was afraid. She held me and it
felt, well, it felt like nothing could ever hurt me.
How do you think things are going to go
from here out?
Ghita: No one can predict the future.
Lyris (wryly): And yet, you tried. And
failed might I add.
Ghita: I took precautions against what
might have been, that’s all.
Lyris: The blood on your hands remains
the same regardless.
Bonus: If you
had a free day and your only mission was to enjoy yourself, what would you do?
Ghita
(smiling): Go on a picnic, I think.
Perhaps alone with a book.
Lyris:
You should try reconnecting with your husband. That should be what you do on
your free day.
Ghita
(frowning): Stop trying to answer for me.
Lyris:
You’re obviously not being truthful. Someone has to throw the truth in there.
Ghita:
And what about you?
Lyris:
What about me? I am what you made me. As much as I’d like to, I
can’t change that. Great job, little
sister. Great job.
And that’s all
the questions for the twins. ^_^ Thank
you so much for having us again and we hope you’ve enjoyed it.
