Welcome C.J. Pinard and her stunning and exciting books
to the blog today!! I am so excited!!!

Newly divorced party girl Cara Reid just wants to have fun. Much too young to even be a divorcee, she and her bestie, Miranda, set off to have fun and maybe a few casual hookups and live life. One night at a military bar, Cara meets Riley Forrester, a hot Army soldier who makes her melt with one look of his deep ocean blue eyes. But Riley is only staying the summer in California and then has to go back to Colorado when it's over. Cara tells herself he's just a summer fling and is determined to enjoy herself and let him go once the summer is over. But when Riley receives orders he wasn't expecting, she's forced to make a decision on whether she's going to be there for him when he gets back, or move on with her life. What she wasn't expecting was to fall so hard for the beautiful soldier boy, and now she's faced with accepting her feelings or letting him go. Contains adult content. For readers 18 and up.

Army Sergeant Riley Forrester knew all about love, loss, and pain. He knew the love of a woman just to lose it. He had spent the best summer of his life with a beautiful single mother named Cara Reid, and then desperately needed her love to get him through a long, cold deployment. When things went horribly wrong overseas, he decided it was best to let Cara go and let her move on with her life. Cara wouldn’t be forgotten that easily, though. She had seeped her way into his heart and his dreams and Riley knew he’d never love another like her.

Contains adult content, for readers 18 and older. Also contains minor scenes of war.

Thomas never thought he would live this long; he expected the usual lifespan of 60 to 70 years. But one terrifying night in 1946 San Francisco has changed all that; he has now been alive 86 years and still looks 20. He and his associates, Jonathan and Kathryn, have been granted Immortality by a group of sylphs belonging to the Zie Council – lead by their queen, Malina – who possess an elixir called Enchantment. But what they and the rest of the Immortals have to do in order to keep receiving this elixir involves protecting sylphs and humans from the faeworlders – vampires and shapeshifters – who want nothing more than to eat, violate, and kill them. For Jonathan, Thomas, and Kathryn, policing the fae is a dirty job, but somebody has to do it. And the payment is eternally priceless

1.     Tell us something about you and your journey to become an author.
I can’t say it’s something I’ve been dreaming about my whole life. I’m also an editor for a lot of self-published authors and love what I do. But one day in 2012, a story idea popped into my head and wouldn’t go away. Enchanted Immortals was born. It was supposed to be a single book. Four books and a novella later…

2.     What ups and downs have you had with your characters and books?
There are certain characters who I love so much, I think they’re real. Some of them have taken dark turns that I hadn’t planned, but it just happened. Some characters are based on real people. Just don’t ask me which, because I will never tell *wink*
Have you killed anyone off just because you could? Yes, a certain vampyre who had done too much wrong in his long life had to go. And the way he went was poetic and right.
Added someone because you realized they were missing? I wouldn’t say added; I would say, a very small character in one book became a very large character because he just shone that brightly.

3.     How do you write? Late at night, in my office, with my iPod in my ears. I need quiet.
Where do you write? In my office, mostly, but I did do a short story on an airplane once. It was mildly erotic so I had to write “insert scene here” in red and go back to it once I landed. I was in an aisle seat and didn’t know who could see it. *lol*
Has inspiration ever hit you when you least expected it? All the time. Once, I was at church and my mind was wandering (WHAT?!) and I had to jot down some notes on the only thing I had to write on – the church bulletin. I also get ideas when I am driving, so I have to wait for a stoplight and scribble notes on a notepad I keep in my car.

4.     Advice to other Indies as to how to get going.
I know this is vague, but just write your story. Open a Word document and begin typing. It’ll come. A lot of people outline, which works too. (I don’t) but I know a lot of authors who depend on it.
How to deal with the negative and positive. With all positive comes negative. You just have to deal with both and learn to ignore the negative, unless it’s constructive and can help (which has happened to me before). Not everyone is gonna like your book(s). And never, ever comment on a negative review.

5.     The most fun you have had since becoming an Author. Tell us a story!
I really can’t pinpoint one single event, but I have met so many other great authors on this journey, and every single one has been a gem. I enjoy getting together with others and talking books, writing, editing, and of course, having wine or mimosas while we do! I’m sure I’m going to have many more moments to come. I have two book conventions I’m attending this summer that I cannot wait for! This is a fun journey.

About the Author

C.J. is a west coast native who has lived on both coasts and now lives near the middle, in Colorado! Coming from a family of writers and editors, she feels writing is in her blood and hopes people will lose themselves for a little while in the fantasy and fun of her stories. She also loves sweet red wine, the SF 49ers, and unlike most authors, doesn't have any cats. When she's not writing, she can be found chasing around her kids or working at her day job, which she totally feels interferes with life, but it also sometimes gives her inspiration for her books, since reality usually is way more interesting than fiction.

She also loves getting notifications that people have sent her an email, added her on Facebook, or on Goodreads. So stop by and say hi - don't be shy! She's not! :)
